Rode NTG-1 or NTG-2?

Sorry if this has been brought up before, looked around but didn't notice any other posts about it.

Is it primarily just a phantom power difference? I shoot with the DVX100b and i'm looking at ordering one of these with a shock mount (kit) from B&H, just curious if theres any reason to get the NTG-2 over the NTG-1?

The only reason to go with NTG-2 is if you need to use it wíth a cheap (non-phantom) radio transmitter. But then you suffer the extra length if you use it on-camera.
