Sony PVM-14L1 13-Inch Studio Monitor - good monitor? Other Suggestions?

I am looking to add a production monitor to my editing gear (FCP on G5 2.7 and 23" Cinema) I have considered adding an additional 20" Cinema Display to use as a production monitor, but after reading posts sounds like that's a bad idea... I'd like to stay under $700 so I know it won't be close to top-of-the-line. I am shooting SD only and could use some advice on a decent monitor for the money. Any help is appreciated.

Just got a used PVM 13inch on craigslist here in Los Angeles for $300. After calibrating it's been fantastic and super crispy clean. Been using a TV for 2 years and this is night and day. I recommend it!
 
I've used that monitor for a while, too; it's excellent.

Check with Studio Exchange in Burbank, 818.840.1351.

I got mine there; they usually have very good deals on used/refurbbed equipment.
 
Thanks for the info guys - you both mention used gear, is the Sony model I'm looking at discontinued? How might this monitor stack up to a cinema display?
