Least expensive on-board mic for DVX100B?

I'm sure someone could suggest some cheap thing that sounds worse than the built-in. If your only criteria is "cheapest" it is hard to make specific suggestions (not that I know a lot about mics ... yet).
 
For shotguns I have the Rode NT-G2. I'm happy with it. Many others prefer the Audio Technica AT897. I am assuming you are looking for a shotgun. Before you buy anything you should head over to the audio section and read all the stickies and become familiar with the different types of mics, what they are suited for and how they would serve what you want to do.
 
I love my AT897.

But when he says "least expensive," what amount is that? For a poor person like me my AT897 was expensive @ $250.00.

But Steve could be a high roller for all we know. :)
 
You could cut the mic off a bluetooth headset and bondo that to your DVX100, those are pretty cheap.
 
OK seriously, this has got to be a set up - who's trying to pad wabbit's count ????
