I see so many people that say this has a ton of spyware and adware but CBS requires you to have it to watch shows on its website.

Real Player sucks. I don't know why it's even still in business.
And yes, when you install it, it infests your computer with all manner of crap to advertise their music and stuff.

Actually if you're determined enough theres an alternative to real player which you can use... I used to use it and its freeware and spyware free. Unfortunately I forgot what its called...

One alternative is called, appropriately enough, "Real Alternative." http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm Seems to work most of the time.

Real player is the work of fools blinded by the taste and smell of cash. I swore it off last year when it invaded my system and virtually crippled it. The makers of this product lack respect for anything but money!!! I e-mailed them several times suggesting they make plastic forks of hair curlers....Something they might be good at!
