www.2nd-unit.tv Hey check out season 2's first show and tell me what you think. It was great working on "the Office's set". The D.P. and Gaffer were so giving. Lots of tips here!

Cynic821, That's great! It makes the whole project worthwhile.
We are here to give back to the community of filmmakers. If I can help teach one person to be a better filmmaker, I have done my job!!!

Are you the guy hosting walking around? Thatd be a great gig to have. i dont have time to watch them all, but the Office is the only show i watch on TV anyways and now im gunna make time to watch the rest! AWESOME!

it took me awhile to warm up to this show, but now I don't miss it. It is easily the best sitcom on TV.

I saw Pam on a flight from Chicago to L.A. this summer and kicked myself for not going up to her and saying anything.

*kick kick*

I totally love this show and I was searching for info on the set not even an hour ago. SWEET.

Wow, 2nd Unit is getting some high profile gigs.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you guys make money with this show?

Color Viewfinder. Hmmmm.. A guy after my own heart. While I like the BW Fiewfinder on my DSR-500 WSL I really do miss immediate feedback on colors.

Jamie gave me that card he got from michael's desk and i **** myself.
can't wait for the second part of this one.

Noah,
I'm so glad your interested in our project. Please let me know what you think. It was great meeting you at N.A.B. at the DVXuser party,
How is your film doing?

You know, of all the questions we answer on the various sites, this has to be the most frequent. The fact is we don't make money on the site. It's intended only to help the independent filmmaker better his or her workproduct; to go places and do things that he or she otherwise might never be able to go and do. I got the idea after discovering so many great people on dvxuser.com a year or so ago and decided to try and make a difference in people's lives. Jarred and I met in Las Vegas for the debut of the first season's idea back at NAB and it's just grown from there fuelled by the responses we were getting. I'm fortunate to have a wonderful crew in Scott and Paolo, Mike and few others who also donated their time to bring it all to you and after putting 6 figures of my own money up up to get the site started, we now enjoy sponsorship funding from a number of corporations led by Sony, Adobe, Tiffen/Steadicam, Allpe and Fujinon; all companies who truly ask nothing in return except that we use their funding to inform and educate the independent filmmaking community. That's why you'll find us recommending equipment but always explaining why we use it and, more importantly, how we and other professionals use it. Sometimes it might be equipment of the manufacturers that support us. Sometimes it's not. But is all cases, the information that comes out through 2nd Unit is straightforward from the professionals that are making 24, The Unit, The Office, NCIS and others the successes that they are.

Thanks for asking and especially for your viewership. Let us know what you want to se, know or better understand and we'll get the information to you through one of our episodes. And also, for those of you who are in the Los Angeles area, I'll be leading a panel at Birns and Sawyer on Wednesday, October 25th with 6-time Emmy winning cinematographer George Spiro Dibie and engineers from Sony, Fujinon and LitePanels to discuss independent filmmaking, partnerships, cinematography and our upcoming feature "El Papel". We'll be taping the entire 3 hour discussion from 6-9pm for inclusion and telecast on the website www.2nd-unit.tv.

Matt- Just remember, it's not a gift I can take back and it coomes with a price. So I'm counting on you to use it in conjunction with alot of hard work to become a better filmmaker.

The Office... as an editor alot of my attention is on precision timing between cuts. The timing on this show is beautifully subtle...

thank you for inspiring many pleasing rhythmic convulsions throughout my abdomen...
