Whenever I go to burn a project, it asks me to insert a DVD. I put in a blank DVD and then it says waiting for device to become ready. Then it just stops processing and spits out the DVD. WTF is going on!!

what happens when you just put in a blank dvd and try to burn data through finder?

Haven't tried that. I thought I had to have some authoring program for it to work though. I may just be dumb. I'll see

What machine are you using and with what specs? There was a problem with dual proc machines under early 10.1,2,3 that would not burn properly. After trying to spit out a dvd in IDVD with no luck but having my partner do it with the same project on a single
proc It made me mad. After reading for a week on everything IDVD we discoved an article on a problem with dual proc just sitting there and spinning. To fix the problem you had to go into the preferences and dump the cash and then set it up for best performance. Also if you don't have enough ram it wont burn correctly sometimes. Good luck'

How old is the machine. could just mean dying superdrive. happened to me before. Paid 250 for the superdrive when it first came out, no they are like 60 bucks for dual layer none the less :(

I got it last year. osx 10.3.9
I'm using iDVD 4. I burned the first 2 minute piece before but when I tried to add another 45 second clip to the end of it, the problems came up.
