Magic Bullet, FCP 5.0.4 and an intel mac

I'm rather disappointed with the performance of my new and first ever for me, mac. So far all i've spent time doing is installing programs, having them crash, and then researching the cause till i find "that version is not compatible with intel macs." I installed my FCP 5.0 package and had everything working except motion 2. I read that motion needs the universal update to work with intel macs. I then installed my magic bullet editors into FCP. Now FCP crashes everytime i open it. I looked on the MB website and i believe that my version of MB is not compatible with intel mac's either. I tried to update my version of MB to work but no luck. I'm fairly new to macs in general. Can anyone tell me how to unistall MB so that my FCP works again? Or point me in the direction of an update for MB that will work with my mac?

what mac are your running on specifically? And there is no excuse to be running Final Cut Pro 5 if its not 5.1.2

I recommend you do more research before buying new gear.
The move to Intel was a huge/new ground up rebuild. Upgrade
to universal applications for FCP and be aware that Adobe does
not make Intel versions of it's software for OSX yet.

Well they don't sell new g5's anymore and i wanted to make the jump into the mac world. A used g5 sells for close to $2000 on ebay and i got my quad mac pro for $2200 so i still think i went the best route. I'm just gonna have to put up w some bs for awhile. So anyways my only option for now is to get crossgrade huh? No other thoughts to get me by while i send my discs in and wait for the new ones to come back? And aftereffects is running fine on my pro right now through rosetta, though i haven't gotten any projects running on it yet, we'll see how stable it is once the layers start to pile up.

Not really any other options until you get the disks back from the crossgrade, but this was avoidable, sending them in early for the crossgrade. I dont know who would suggest a G5, i sure as hell wouldnt, and especially not at that price.

Great buy with the Mac Pro, but you need to get your software in order ASAP. I hope you have already shipped the disks out. the machine is worthless without its software. And cant really trouble shoot a problem if your software isnt up to date, because the software , the newest software, is the fix.

Not sure what you are talking about, I have a Macbook pro and I haven't any problems. I run FCP, after fx 7, photoshop cs2, cinema 4d and many more, not a single problem. Maybe you installed an extension that is corupting you system, maybe you have a bad machine... did you go to an apple store?

I purchased a new MBP 2.0 and am using the whole FCP Studio plus the Adobe creative suite without issue. I do not have the Universal version either. I guess I am just lucky, why do you think I have had no problem with it?

I am using FCP 5.1.2 You can't use non universal plug-in with a universal application. It needs to be either or. If you need serious color grading plugin, use digital film lab, they are better that Magic Bullet, and they are native (universal).

ill check that digital film lab out, im pretty dis satisfied with magic bullet. Doesnt do much that i can see that i cant do with my own color correcting. And it is a resource fiend.
