Hey all,
Just recently purchased HVX200. I've written my screenplay, finished casting, and begining to scout locations. Thinking about editing and...
It seems from what I've read so far here are my options:
P2 footage-->Convert to Quicktime-->FCP timeline (ugh need to buy mac, but realtime previews)
P2 footage-->Raylight-->Vegas (ugh slow, no real time previews)
P2 footage-->Cineform-->Vegas (ugh still slow, no real time)
P2 footage-->Serious Magic-->Vegas (ugh still slow, no real time)
P2 footage-->Avid (ugh Avid is expensive, and hella hard to use)
P2 footage-->Edius (workflow kills!, ugh expensive & subpar editing capability, and doesn't have a lot of filter/plug-in support if any)
So I had this ridiculous idea, and please go easy on me cuz I'm a noob:
My friend has the full Vegas suite on his machine, so..... I go out and get Edius, import all my footage, and then export it out to Vegas? Then edit it in Vegas?
Is that even possible?
What would I export it out of Edius as?
Would it still play/preview hella slow in Vegas after I export it out of Edius?
I know using two full blown editing suites isn't very cost effective and an option for most, but in my case I can get access to both, so is it workable?
Feedback and knowledge is welcome!
