Alright, here it is:

How do I export a half-size NTSC 16:9 Quicktime Conversion? Is there a point and click way to do this in Final Cut (like the 320x240 iPod format)? Footage is squeeze.

Thanks!

if your computer is up to date, the new iPod format is 640 x 480 or if it is NTSC 640 x 360. Try it out though and see how it looks, it works great for me when i need half size footage. Im not familiar with the Squeeze thing, im on an HVX, but is the timeline 16 x 9? if so it should output fine with iPod...

actually it would be full rez at iPod not half rez... just cut 640 x 360 in half, that would be 320 x 180 for 16 x 9, if the timeline is 16 x 9

Thanks Cynic. The timeline is 16 x 9, but it exports as squeezed footage.

I usually export as a Quicktime Conversion at best quality and it preserves my aspect ratio, but I have never done this for small web videos in 16 x 9. Alsok, the iPod format is 4x3 only.

Kind of a sticky situation.

When i export from a 16 x 9 timeline from my FCP 5.1.2 to 'iPod' whether it was the old format or the new bigger one, it always kept it 16 x 9. have you manually tried entering in the resolution on export?

720 x 480 i believe. if you want it to be a smaller web version 320 x 180 is what you will want.
