Wendt x3 vs. Sound Devices 302

Whats the down and dirty on the Wendt X3? I see it mentioned, here, on the board from time to time, but no one really pushes it. I gather the reason being, its lacking some major features that the SD carries! I look for them on all the used equipment sites, but never see any. I know B & H sells them new for roughly the same price as the SD, so there must be some units out there? My newest impression is: The reason I cant find the Wendt mixers 'used' is ....... their owners are too happy with them! Can anyone comment on the Wendt x3 vs Sound Devices 302?

i had few wendts in my life , was very happy .
3 is a good and simple mixer
by the way the renting houses here in israel trade olmost all their 302 for wendts -its live longer in ash..hands
do a search it was on aboard alredy few month ago

Wend is very nice pleasent mixer. I love it for simple jobs. SD302 has a clumsy layout you can't slide your finger everywere that easly. Especially during the winder when you wear gloves on. Both are good mixers though and both are good for battery life.

yea Oleg, I read that 6 months ago and have been watching out for Wendt ever since. And I think its American company [California], so why no interest in this mixer? I'm missing something?

mumin, does 'simple' = 'less features' or 'user friendly'?

yep it is there in some place , Valencia i think, one man show company , simple and user friendly stuff , which came to the world 15 years ago to close the gap between sqns and shure - they have very nice support if you have any question , you can find them true their web
the only rouble i found with wendt is it have quit a large problem with zaxcom transmitters around - you cant share the power between and you have go unbalance into the tx
and it doesnt have pick meters
-other wise , it simple , build well , have the right layout for small eng , much better potentiometers then the sd and longer battery life

sd s have one thing that really put it ahead for dv users , it is variable limiter and output attenuation that could be adjust for any camera input
so if you dont mind suffering with it pots and using mostly dv /hdv/panasonic 200 and similar i must say go with the 302 , if you are renting company - forget about 302 :-) it doesnt last well in assholes hands
