Hey fellas

does anyone own a canon 814 xl-s that would like to part with it or knows a good place to seek one out (besides ebay)

This camera is a beauty and I'm curious about the super duper 8 mod (16x9ish super8)

i have one.

not looking to get rid of it though...that is unless i can get my hands on a 1014.

and there are shops that sell super 8 cameras but they are always so pricey.

ebay worked for me. :-)

I also have one. Bought from this guy here:

Camera came in excellent condition.

Neither

You have to really know the equipment and widen the gate yourself (yikes)

or send it off to a professional for them to widen it!

I've seen footage of the end result and its pretty cool however if you dump it to digital you might as well keep the 4x3 because you can just crop in post

Plus most people who transfer super 8 to digital would be confused on sizing the aspect ratio if the gate is widened. But if your old school and edit the film Linear the 16x9 look is sweet and people dont know what it is!

I have (2) 814s, though I don;t know if they are the xl(s) model. They have silver bodies with black pleather padding.... Is this what you are looking for?
