CGI Movies and the Obsession with cute, hyper, and usually small and furry Animals.

Has anyone noticed that in ALL CGI movies, there is usually a small, adorable (sometimes furry) animal that has a high pitched voice, is hyper/fast/overactive, and gets a line on the commercials?

Hoodwinked- Twitchy the squirrel.
Over the Hedge- Hammy the squirrel.
Madagascar- That little lemur with the pitchy yell.
Finding Nemo- Dorrie the fish.
Open Season- That irish squirrel, or the rabbits, or the hedgehogs.
Flushed Away- The slugs.
Shrek- Donkey.

There are a ton more, I just cant think of them right now.

I find that annoying really. In Madagascar, the little "thing" that everbody seems to throw around when there is danger lurking is just annoying. It looks like the filmmakers put that in, in the last minute, just for the "aaawww,so cute" factor. It isnt, its just hackneyed and plain dumb...

I don't really consider any of those actual films.

CGI movies I like...
Toy Story...
Incredibles..

..... thats it

unless Titan A.E. is considered CGI. but it's not.

Really? why not? it has all the main ingredients of a live action film. Story, Characters, protagonists, antagonists, conflict, pacing, attention to mood, framing, cinematography (different than live action yes, but they have to light 3D scenes as well) etc.

yeah, I really like all the pixar movies, except Cars, I really couldn't get into that.

the first Shrek and Antz were good too. Oh and I liked monster house also. hmmm There are a lot of them I like :)

Well, my favorite of all the "animated" movies was Chicken Run
"I don't like gravy."

It goes to that whole rating system of home video, video, flick, movie, film, and picture.

I like all pixar movies without exception - They rock! Other than that..the shows from other animation houses aren't too spectacular..
