What computers are you using with your Aja cards?

Background:
I want a Aja card to use the component out for colour corrections. I checked the Aja site of the pc version (xena) and they set requirements to Hp XW8200 with dual physical processor and some boxx systems. These systems is at the moment to expensive for me=(

Question:
Anybody here using a priceworth system with their Aja card? Im even looking at he kona version even thoe i never been a mac fan before, I must admit I like working on the new macs with the intel processor in (aspecially the quadro cores).

I received my Xena LHe today. I don't plan to build my edit suite until later this year. I plan on setting up a Core 2 Quad, in theory. I bought the AJA card now as the combo/bundle deal with CineForm ProspectHD was value and I will start using ProspectHD on my laptop soon.

So, I agree current technology is expensive and probably going to be outdated soon by the new Core 2 Quad's that may be up to spec. Of course, ask AJA about updated system requirements, once these new CPU's are released. Good luck.

Haven't gone the Aja route, but seriously considering it. Would love to get others comments on their experiences.

Kona 3 ROCKS! with the Mac Pro. I have two and love them. Solid and the upconversion looks great. I'm a big AJA fan. Haven't had but a day's experience with the PC versions but it worked well. The AJA tech support is second to none and you can never go wrong with their products. I also use the Kona 2 and LHe on the Nascar circuit and they work perfectly as well.

Don, or if more tried both the "aja kona" and "xena". What do you prefer or is it more like the same? Or does kona 3 have more features that is important?

And Tyler, what machine are you going to run your aja card on until you get a new machine? Or you going to use just the prospectHD until you get the new machine?

Joel

The Kona 3 has Up-Down-Cross conversion of SD and HD data. That is very important to me as I do feature docs. The current one is about post Hurricane Katrina and I have a lot of home video that needed to be uprezed and all the sotware I tried was not good. Audio performance is very powerful and frankly, I much prefer to work on Apple products as they "get it" in reagards to professional video applications whether it be Avid or FCP. I find the PC environment still stuck in the 90s in the way it thinks and the interfaces are just not very intuitive and slick. But, they were solid I must say, and a bit cheaper, yet with the new Mac Pros (which I have 2), the cost is now equal or maybe even a bit less for the MAc.

Best,
