Big favor, new website

So as is traditional for me about every 6 months, instead of just updating my website I end up completely building a new one. Make a longs story short, I would appreciate any feedback you guys could give one the new one. It is simple and short, I am still working on it, so here are the known problems. Any other problems that may occure, I would appreciate you letting me know.

Cinemetography page is not yet completed, a couple of the files have not been rendered yet, so a couple links do not yet exist.

The contact page has not beend finished yet, therefore it currently leads to the cinemetography page.

Thanks in advance, I appriate the time.

looks great! I would steal it as use it as my own if I had any clue how to do it :)

On the photo page, the menu at the bottom is JUST below the browser window for me, making it appear there is nothing on it (I eventually realized i had to scroll down. Maybe put the menu on the top of the page?

other then that the only other thing is the "back" buttons color. On my laptop the light gray almost disappears as it's on the bottom of the screen (you know colors look different depending on the angle you look at a laptop monitor?) Again I eventually found it but at first i thought it wasn't there.

Great looking site though, jealous

Excellent job,

the only crit I have, is that you have to be aware that different users are viewing the webpage at different rez, thus we I clicked on "Photography" the size was extended beyound my screen size, at first I did not notice anything and assumed it to be a black page or was waiting for it to load more stuff, then I realised that the page was bigger I scrolled down to find the goodies at the bottom, perhaps more stuff needs to be at the top bit of the page so users with a smaller screen rez can know that the page actually extends further down.

Other than that Great job on the web page!

Page looks good. I think there is an ability in flash to produce a one size fits all for screen resolutions as I recall it was in the publish settings and had something to do with publishing using percent or some such thing. That was in flash 6 and I would assume it has been carried forward? I really like the look though.

Thanks for the comments thus far. I appreciate the feedback and am making changes as we speak. Mino, I had thought about doing the 100% thing, the problem I have found with that though is that there is never a native resolution, meaning something is always being scaled and I have found that flash does not always favorably scale photos. If it were possible to make it scale only smaller, not larger then that would be great. I am actually still using flash MX, a little behind the times, but it gets done what I need it to. If you have any clue as to how that could be accomplished I'd appreciate it.
THe other option is to add more things at the top, or even have the first photo load automatically so that the user scrolls down.

Nice! I like it. I don't think you need to say "yourname portfolio website"

we know that. that's why we're there! keep it clean, get rid of the extra words.

instead of "back" I would use "main" or "menu" home, etc.

Thanks Alexa, I like the menu idea. I guess your right about the portfolio "name" thing. So would you reccomend just not having any name at all? What if people find my website by accident? I guess I will have the contact info page, so I guess your right. Hmm, just thinking outloud, thanks for the suggestions.

hi scharky-

just use your first and last name, nix th "portfolio website" part

on the photos, if you don't my suggestions. only show what is good, limit your repaeats , typically you should only have teh best shot from one look or shoot.

some things totatlly from memory:

I did not like pict #2 with the glasses. I"m not impressed.

I am impressed by the barn and the scissor picts.

why aren't all your photos consistently displayed? some have the black border, some dont some have your name on them, most dont'. kill your name on them. we are on your site already. I do not like the jean jacket girl with the sunglass closeup. photo tells me nothing. the other one, is kind of cute, but kinda too cute, too. I'd keep it though. some how the tear sheets seem out of place, but I nkow you got to show them somewhere. of the girl with no hair, I think I like the blue skirt shot the best.

Opera on Linux: white screen, no error message, nothing. Your flash loading code could perform a version check and provide some feedback like "You need Flash 8 to enjoy this page ..."
