Um, why? Can't you do this on a PC? I have 4 SATA ports on my motherboard. What's the difference?

The Mac Pro was designed for drives up to 500 GB each. People tried to put 750 GB drives in and found strange behavior. OWC wrote a new driver, but it hasn't solved all the problems.

Glad I just read this. I was about to order 4 750 Seagates for my brand new 3.00 GHz Quad Xeon. I nearly purchased a nearly new Xraid last week, which had 2.8TB of disk space. Thought abou it and sticking 4 of those Seagates in a new MacPro is better value, so that is what I was going to do. Might just have to buy 4 500Gig Hard drives now instead.

So what are the best 500 Gig HD's to buy? Raptors?
