300- Zach Snyder's new ride

I like the use of Blue/Green screen within an actual set; i.e. the shot of them in the tall grass (Unlike Sin City and it's ALL GREEN SCREEN SET)

It wasn't all green screen though... Most of it, yeah, but not all of it. They also had little set pieces in there too.

This one definitely has promise... I don't care how much green/blue screen it uses just that it works, and it looks badass right now!

"Remember this day men for it will be yours for all time."

"Do you know what's waiting beyond that beach? Immortality! Take it! It's yours! "

"Brothers, what we do in life... echoes in eternity. "

Bout time someone came up with a new line.....especially for this hostoric genre of film.

The concept seems good, hard to go past Spartacus.

It was an amazing graphic novel. Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Is Zach Snyder going to drop out of the DGA so he can co-direct with Frank Miller? Cause that would be trendy....

Holy crap it looks amazing

I had been sort of following the production journals, but after the first three I was starting to lose hope in the movie. It just looked like it'd be a disappointment.

My hope is rekindled.

I like the IMDb summary which says the Spartans were outnumbered "one hundred thousand to one." Nice math . . .

Looks like it was based on the battle of Thermopylae (sp?) Actually, the odds of 1000:1 may not be exaggerated. The Persian King Xerxes had a huge army - in the millions. Although they didn't fight them all at once due to the narrow pass at Thermopylae, the overall odds were staggering. Do a wiki search on Thermopylae and Leonidas to find out more. It's one of the greatest battles of all time.

i thought I saw on the history channel that while the persians had a huge army, still very much out numbering the Spartans, the idea that there were only 300 spartans was a legend and there were far more. I stunning victory indeed, but maybe 100:1

'still wanna see the movie. :)

yeah, even wikipedia says that when the greek allies retreated, Leonidas and his guard of 300 ALONG with 700 other troops stayed behind. It also lists the persian army as being somewhere betwenn 200,000 and 1,700,000 strong, which is quite a range.

Still, even at those numbers, a "safe" bet is 1000:1

Goddamn, I actually wanna see the movie more now lol
