I LOVE THEM! Appearantly the new one has 3 rotating filter holders as well! The Follow focus i have is amazingly smooth with zero play in it and has a single stop, the new one has 2 stops. And right before i was going to get a DVRig Pro, he announces on there a shoulder support system?! That rokzorz my boxzorz!

Yeah seems Joels products keep getting better and more sophisticated... good on him for sticking at it.

Theres a new video on the page now of the rail support system, if it can do all of that in real life, then im sold! Look for an M2 rail system for sale very soon! LOL...just kidding, i never sell anything but seriously

*note, i cant get the embedded video to play on a mac, so i downloaded it converted it and am hosting it here if you cant see the video playing on the main page.

RIght click and download

would that be a good thing or a bad thing? Ive read about the zacuto ones, and looked extensivly at them, but its just too expensive. i know its got all the features anyone could EVER , or in my case, probably never use...

Too expensive for me that is. i can afford them, but i cant justify the purchase of something of that price when what i have works fine, and the hysonfilms one will probably be a fraction of that price (hope so) with plenty of features and looks like it accepts add ons no? They just mount to the rails? At zacuto the little rail clamp thing is 100 bucks?

Really cool looking product. Did I read somewhere the Hyson is OEM for the Century mattebox/rails because those rails look closer to Century than Zacuto to me (holding a Zacuto now and comparing). The Zacuto rails sell for around $500, so Hyson really needs to beat that price significantly since that Zacuto baseplate is a very solid piece of gear. And you can buy a Zacuto today.

be good to get a package deal on all the stuff in the list of new things coming, ive got patience though, but it would be nice to have the shoulder support NOW for the horror fest, i want to do everything handheld for it, with some cine dolly stuff , gunna have to improvise

the hyson is OEM for century? i really dont think thats true... who knows though.

To get the whole shoulder support thing looks REALLY expensive to build over at zacuto, 250 just for the pad. and the handles are 750

Noticed another new update from hysonfilms.com

check out the new setup! And theres other new stuff so anyone whos interesed in these products is advised to wait it out a tad longer, i am!

Whoa, that looks great, especially the follow focus. I gotta say I'm really tired of my Redrock follow focus and was hoping to hear some feedback on Hyson's before I bought this time. You say there's no play Cynic? If so, I really shoulda got one while I had the chance. Is there anyone else out there who has one of the old follow focus units? I'd love hear more 'cause this new one looks amazing.

Checked the site again today, theres an update with 2 more angles of the Follow Focus and Baseplate w/ Rails @ hysonfilms.com

Lookin at these pics im curious what it looks like underneath in order to screw the HVX onto it.

Looks sick, but on the follow focus, I don't see a nice little white board around it. How are you supposed to make your marks?

It has 2 hard stops instead of a marking board. So you can stop on your 'marks' (the hard stops) without having to look at where to stop.

Well that's just retarded. What if you need 3 marks? Hard stops are good for only very specific uses. They can be nice to have, but on an average shoot I wouldn't want hard stops- there's always the chance that the actor will overshoot the mark and the AC should be ready to compensate - if there are hard stops, you physically can't go paste the mark.

you dont have to tighten them all the way, they can be soft stops, where you feel it when you hit it, but they still move to compensate for actors under or over shooting their marks.
