I can't imagine this topic hasn't been explored before, but with the ever evolving psyche and the recent release of some damn good flicks on DVD i think its time for a re-declaration.

1- what film have you seen the most overall?

2- what film have you watched the most lately?

3- realistically, how many times have you seen it?

and

4- how long will it take Callaghan to respond with Casablanca?

The clock starts now!

1. I have no idea. Maybe The Empire strikes back. I watched it a lot when I was younger. It's always been my favorite Star Wars film.

2. Lately I've been watching Trainspotting and The Squid and the Whale a lot. Trainspotting I just bought, so I watch it a lot. Squid and the Whale I bought five months ago, but I started watching a lot again for some reaosn.

3. Trainspotting, probably like 6 times. Squid, probably 10 or more times.

4. No comment

By far, I've seen The Wind and the Lion the most. Followed by Aliens, Blade Runner, Cool Hand Luke and The Outlaw Josie Wales. I haven't had time recently for repeat viewings of movies as I have about 63 that I haven't seen yet. I'm trying to catch up on those.

Realistically, I quit counting at 40. And I've seen it more since then. Probably averaged almost twice a year since it came out...

Overall... it's gotta be Empire Strikes Back (over 40 times)....recently, Bourne Identity (at least 30 times overall) I love that film!

and... Once Upon a Time in Mexico (15-20 times)

1. The Sword in the Stone. I'd watch that all the time as a kid.
2. If anything...Snatch.
3. 20 maybe.

I was surprised by how much I liked Casablanca, once it picks up out of the backstory.

Casablanca is a religious experience for me. I have to set the mood, pour the proper cocktail, send the wee ones to bed early, sit in front of the screen, and ready my mind for the emotional outta body experience that I am about to embark on....

oh, and to answer #4.............precisely one hour, forty-four minutes and twenty-four point four seconds

1. Moulin Rouge

2. Rear Window

3. What is it? Number one or two? I'll assume #1 and say 40 times.

Heaven Can Wait (original)
Adventures In Babysitting
The Thomas Crown Affair (remake)
The Chase
Nightmare On Elm Street (marathoning the series)

1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
2. Apocalypse Now (non-redux)
3. Blade Runner

Have watched all three of the above films several hundred times each, with 2001: A Space Odyssey probably being the most-watched. Watched Blade Runner about a week ago. Apocalypse Now the week before. 2001 all last month. Have also watched both Alien and Aliens a whole-helluva-lotta times.

several hundred times each? that would mean you'd have to watch each of them once a week for a decade. really?

The film I have seen the most: Fight Club (I am an insomniac so for 4+ years I put Fight Club in the DVD player when I was laying down to go to bed and it almost always had me asleep by the time Norton meets Pitt on the plane). I would say that I've watched the movie straight through for entertainment maybe 10 times. I have put the movie on at least for 3 years straight... which means that I'm over 1000 times.

2. Most recently I watched The Devil's Rejects yesterday with the girlfriend, but Fight Club was in the DVD player when I went to sleep last night.

3. I have seen The Devil's Rejects more than 30 times (I like to put it on when I'm writing, reading, or editing pictures just to have noise in the background). I have seen Fight Club more than 1000 times (at least the beginning).

4. I think he answered that.

Its a toss up between Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark. I've seen both films hundreds of times.

Recently I've been watching ... er ... Dora the Explorer. I know it's not a movie, but television is one aspect where I can't wait for my kids to grow up.
