lol i know. honestly, I stole it from from someone at dvinfo or someplace. The second I saw it I said "Dude... I gotta have that"

I can't even comfirm it's an accurate quote, but its just too good.

I always knew about Roadracers, but I never knew there was a book. I read Rodriguez was planning on releasing a new DVD of it. Maybe he'll re-release the book too.

i have a feeling neither will happen, which is why i sprang for the book. In fact, I believe Rodriguez FINISHED the DVD, but the studio hasn't released and probably never will (until the rights change hands), damn politics.

Excerpt:

I have stopped storyboarding altogether. After the roller-rink incident, I think it's obvious I have to stop trying to explain to people what I want to do, and just grab the camera and do it myself. If the crew sees the storyboards and realizes how much work there is to do, they just shut down automatically. I think we got today's set-up count because they didn't know what they were in for at the beginning of the day. I just grabbed the camera and shot like a madman, and they just tagged right along. I'm not going to storyboard the rest of the movie.

lol in the context of THAT chapter, it makes sense, but most people won't find themselves in his same situation.

(not to start ANOTHER "to board or not to board" thread. eek)

True, true. I love how he grabs the camera and starts making the movie on his own. Then everyone gets motivated automatically.

lol, I'm sure it will get here eventually.... right?

Anyway, Im thrilled you enjoyed it, and for under $30! When it comes back I'll be ready to send it to the next person, just PM me if you're interested. Again, I apoligize that the selection process is so subjective, but I can't send the book out to people I don't feel comfortable with. However, most people here are pretty good natured so if you really want to read it, I'm sure everyone will get a chance eventually. :)

By the way, I put it back in the cardboard envelope and then bought a bubble wrap envelope for it. And I insured it. That book is traveling in style.

how much did the bubble wrap and insurance set you back? I believe it was 4 bucks when i sent it to you, I honestly dont rmember though, maybe 6?
