Nikon lenses - AIS, AI, Non-AI???

Okay, I got my Go35SD on order. Now I just gotta find some Nikon lenses...

1. What's the real difference between an AIS, AI, or Non-AI lens? Does it really matter which one when it comes to video 35mm adapters?

2. Does it matter if the lens is manual or autofocus?

3. Do you think it's a good idea to find one with a smooth focus ring (or one with indentations on the ring) so that it'll work better for a follow focus?

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.

1. Real diff is for Nikon cameras.
2. Yes. Manual focus have longer movement than AF and distances more "spread out" thus easier to fine pull focus on (and get marks)
3. None. To use a FF you need one of these gears:

Made a few, sold them all but I don't make them anymore (not a manufacturing friendly design).
