4:3 Footage in 16:9 anamorphic sequence

I hope somebody can help me with this. This project has a history. I filmed with the HVX SD in squeeze mode, but I made a project in Final Cut as a DV pal 48 KHZ. I changed the sequence setting afterwards by checking the anamorphic in sequnce setting and by removing the distort in attributes. This works great but I have a project which 16:9 footage and 4:3 footage in it (from a tv station, which broadcast in 4:3). Now the 4:3 footage looks squized. Is there any way I can change this. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

4:3 needs to be scaled up to fill the 16:9 window. you will loose some quality.
