FCP Movies for YouTube

Hey
I'm trying to make high quality 2 minute movies for YouTube and they always have a really pixilly look. Is there a way to make Quicktime movies look good on YouTube?
I'm on a FCP 5 Editing system and Macintosh G5

Thanks

In short, no. The only way YouTube can host so many millions of videos is by compressing them to within an inch of their life. The end result being the "YouTube look" -- hideous, highly compressed video.

I think if you do an export out using QT conversion, and then adjust the options like...

Frame size at 320 x 240
Frame rate at 15
Compressor - here's were you need to experiment some, I find it different for each project - try ones like Sorenson 3, Photo JPEG, Motion JPEG.

And like mentioned above, you're unlikely to get 'good' results, just perhaps 'tolerable' ones. But you'll need to lower the bar a bit for a YouTube vid.

Cheers.

yeah, they have a 100mb upload limit, but they take those and automatically recompress them to the horrible quality you see. no way around it until they start letting native h.264 stream. THEN youtube will be a worthy video storage space..
