Finding Nemo ?

Stas.

I was gonna put "A Bug's Life" too :)

But really, I think the Pixar movies are exceptionally "shot" and "Nemo" and "Bug's Life" are particularly beautiful. Just because it was created in a computer doesn't mean it's not valid cinematography, albeit non-traditional. All the care and thought and time that's been spent to create and light each image in a Pixar movie yields what I think are often compelling images. So there

I think we are forgetting something........

Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining"

"Full Metal Jacket"

"Eyes wide shut"

That's enough for me, the man was a genius.

I don't know. Animation is just different. If we start giving Pixar shouts out for cinematography then We'd have to bring up the old Disney 2D films as well. I think its a different discipline. There's some crossover but its not the same thing.

Without a doubt, The Good the Bad and the Ugly is at the top of my list.

Then, in no particular order:
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
Contact
E.T.
The Hudsucker Proxy

I'm going to add Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy. I finally boought them today and was reminded of hos great the cinematography of boths films is.

In no particular order:
  • The Thin Red Line
  • Apocalypse Now
  • Stalker
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • The New World
  • Days of Heaven
  • Oldboy
  • Persona
  • Suspiria
  • Hero
Maybe i'm forgetting some beautiful movies, but this was the best I could do without searching :)
