Re-striking a Joker too soon.

Hey all,

We just got a Joker 800, literally about an hour ago. It seems to be pretty picky on how much time you give it before re-striking after you turn it off. Does it damage the bulb if you try to strike to soon? My understanding is that if its not below a certain tempature it won't let you do it, it buzzes at you until you turn it off. It seems to me that this is a protection cercuit to keep from hurting the bulb. Does this make sense?

Thanks!

Hi:

I used to own a Joker 1200 PAR. All HMIs behave this way, they must be cooled down to a certain temperature to strike. It's normal, shouldn't take too long before you can light it up again.

Don't sweat it, just wait a few minutes, then re-light it.

Thanks!

I was sure I was right, but sometimes you have to appease people who don't not understand things. Can't wait til the next shoot, that thing kicks ass.
