Name the "grim reaper ferry captain" movie

The principle characters are on some kind of an adventure or quest. They arrive to a lake and are trying to get across to an island in the center of it. The ferry captain is a "grim reaper" skeleton-like character. They pay the "toll" of a few gold coins to the "grim reaper" ferry captain, and then he takes them across to the island.

I thought it might be "Time Bandits" or "Willow" but watched them and could not find the scene.

Jog anyone's memory?

Thank you very much.

Hmm. Sounds a lot like the song "Don't Pay the Ferryman" (1982) by Chris de Burgh. Could you be thinking of the music video to that song? The song comes from a character in Greek mythology, Charon, the ferryman of the dead. He would demand an obolus(sp?) (coin) to bring dead souls across the river of Archeron. Charon makes an appearance in the movie Clash of the Titans (1981). It's been so long since I have seen that movie that a can't really recall the exact part. Maybe you could be thinking of that?

Whats the movie with Robin Willians, he goes into hell looking for his wife, wasn't there a boat also?

There is another movie also, can't remember...

Clash of the Titans! That is it! Thank you so much. Thank you a million times. Yes, the Charon character, never knew what it was or its name.

I did some research and found a screen capture from the film. Here he is.

Have not heard this in years

Haha. Yeah, I've had that song stuck in my head ever since I first read his post.

Don't pay the ferryman,
Don't even fix a price,
Don't pay the ferryman,
Until he gets you to the other side.

It's been driving me insane! Love my 80's tunes though.

Oh, and John, did you know there was actually a book released by Marcus Mastin based on this song? I've not read it but I have heard good things.
