Ok, I'll eat my hat... I got a myspace page.

I don't know why people trippin about myspace. I use myspace for mainly for marketing purposes and of course occasionally i find many old time friends. It's a great tool when used the correct way... Hel, half my cast I found for my feature is from myspace. It's a easy simple tool and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this **** out! duce!!!

my myspace beeatches!

Not me

I thought about it for about a second and then realized it is one giant meat market for everyone to carry on virtual relationships and innuendos and that the average age was probably about 4 ...

I mean, have we ever seen so many attention depserate people in one place? They oughta call it MySpacetowhoremyselfout.com or Lookatmelookatmelookatme.com

Every page looks identical, so in their attempts to be individuals and stand-out, they're all just the same thing over and over and over. Not too mention everyone seems to have an IQ of about 70...

you guys seriously have it all wrong. its what you make of it, just like anything else. its another great tool to reach people and show them your footage. promo and marketing: thats a pretty important part of getting people to see your stuff for nothing more than some effort (if you want people to see it, that is).

i announced the two auditions for my new movie im about ready to start shooting on myspace (along with other places of course) and got about a dozen good potentials to come in from the 16-35 age group that i never would have gotten ahold of otherwise, and some of these people are going to get the roles. a couple people drove from 4 hours out and another from 6!

so yeah, if youre just looking to pick up 12 year olds, than sure, its kinda creepy. but if you make a film page and pimp yourself out, youre going to come away with some great networking opps, some more fans, and you might just meet the right person to bring your project up a level. there are filmmakers on there, and there's filmmaker groups (i made one for all the peeps in my area actually). just gotta look past the T&A&P

However, I was selected for jury duty where the defendant was accused of doing just that. I didn't make the cut so I don't know the verdict.

Nevertheless, worked for my band and the documentary I'm pulling together of our tour.

It's like everything out there, it has it's up's and it's downs.
I met Jennifer Schaefer through Myspace and she got Rob Gunnerson to look at my upcoming short. She got him $150,000 for his film and got Alfonso Cuaron his distribution deal for "Y Tu MaMa Tambien".

Then there are the idiots out there jumping on planes to meet their myspace true love in the romantic rendeavou spot of Peking's red light district.
