You guys are jumping for no reason, I am not claiming its taking PH shot for shot, but there are obvious similarities they will share, regardless if they want to or not. One can't help but be reminded of PH. Hell, the first time I say the PH trailer I was blown away and couldn't wait for it to come out. Then it did. They sure hid the bad parts of that movie well, prior to release.

That doesn't mean you can make the same assumption about this one. If this were a Bruckheimer/Bay vehicle, you'd probably be right. But Dean Devlin films -- even if they're not always great -- don't follow the Bruckheimer/Bay pattern.

As I have said, I hope its great, I really do, but the feeling I get from it is hardly anything close to what I hope for.

It also has a first time big budget director, currently he has a lot of TV stuff, so we shall see what he does. This can either work out really well, or be part of the problem.

Also the writing team looks fairly weak or not enough experience.

Where are we jumping ? We're just blowing your conclusions out of the water; no biggie.

The only similarity is that there are airplanes and pilots as far as I can gather. None of your other claims (The screengrabs) have proved to have merit.

I don't personally see this film being in the scope of SPR, TRL or other serious war films but, it'll probably be a good rental.

Does anyone else see greatness in this ? I don't think so. I don't think your predictions are going to win the Nostradamus Award. :D

Although I think Michael Bay gets a bum rap on many levels, I gotta agree. Devlin is damned consistent as a blockbuster producer going all the way back to Stargate (save for Godzilla of course.)
Don't get me wrong, I feel that The Patriot will stand as his crowning glory when all is said and done...
but Flyboys looks like it could be an ace all the same.

Nice post Cally

The PAtriot was supercool

LOL jpeck

I ony aim to encourage participation! I'd love to see the full TOP 10! New life in Film Discussion ! Yay!

I posted movies that were new to the discussion, I don't want to just regurgitate the same stuff over and over, I see enough of that already.

What if a person has not seen 10 movies from the year 1975:shocked:, does he/she not have a say in the top movies of that year?

Especially if people were creating lists and leaving off movies that are far superior to the ones listed?

Another Genesis show, for the record.

If anyone is in the dark on this - Genesis is a super-sampled 4:4:4 4k, non-Bayer RGB single imager camera (currently recording to 2k 1920 x 1080 to Sony SRW1 HDCam). What tricks does Panavision have up their sleeve for generation two? I could venture a guess...
