U.S. Open

Good Tenis so far Roddick up 1 and fighting so we will see. Kind of sucks it is so early or even just on a saturday. Its hard watching the ND football game and switching back to the open.

That bagel (6 - 0) set was solid for Arod. Another Roddick / Federer showdown. Too bad for Andrew.
 
Yeah if he can just keep it together and belive he has a chance to win he could pull it off. What I find interesting and I guess I never really thought of it but Roddick is the only American gran slam tournement winner since Andre Agassi left. So Roddick is our only hope for american tenis.
 
It's been a long time seeing Roddick play the way he has this past summer but he just fell apart after 7-5.

Going down 5 - 0 was just a tale of the tape right there.

I love watching Federer though I can see why some people get tired of seeing the same guy win all the slams (except Roland Garros). I wonder how many Borg would have won if he'd kept playing. Federer is everything I'm not on the court. He's graceful, he makes great shots from every position on the court, and never seems to be off balance or break a sweat. Even when I'm winning I'm not at all graceful and I'm pretty much always off balance.

I've been watching with more interest than usual this year because I recently finished a screenplay about a professional tennis player. The third act takes place at the U.S. Open with my protagonist trying to win his first slam. Now I'm trying to get production companies to read the thing, which has been difficult since I don't have an agent. I even wrote a small part for Andre Agassi as a nod to his great career. Of course, I'd rewrite it if he didn't want to take part, but he has some free time now.

Now, if Nadal would get just a little better on the other surfaces, we'd have some great finals in the slams and masters series events.
 
Well it was bound to happen we all knew it was going to happen. But yet an American can't win the US Open. Well there is always next year. Good tenis though through the whole couple of weeks.
 
Americans have dominated the sport since the incepetion of the Open Era. It is an interesting time in the American game.

A lot of hopefuls out there; and ARod aint one of them, nor is Blake, nor is Robbie Ginepri ....
 
Yes Yes I know we have hand some kick ass players but now all we really have is Roddick who yes has won one and blake. We will get back there but what a better storie it would have been if Roddick would have won the US Open this year.

But its cool I like Fedderer he plays really good Tennis
 
Sold my tickets to the finals, because nobody wanted to go with me.

But I made a profit and the result was predictable so I don't mind so much.
