Big suprise, thought it wouldnt be out until the 12th, but here it is the 24 inch widescreen iMac debuting the Intel Core 2 Duo Chips! 1999.99 for the 24 inch and 999.99 for the 17 inch sans the graphics card!

Who wants one, whos getting one?

Ya i know, these people are insane wanting to get such a huge scre.....hold on a sec

*grabs a few and puts in cart*

....so anyways , where was I? oh ya, who needs a screen that big, i mean rediculous!

19"? GOD NO! Seriously 19 is puny, tiny, miniscule. And depending on what service apple unviels on the 12th, this is even better and makes even more sense!

If apple actually releases downloadable movies and possibly HD, then this is the perfect peice of hardware to run this new service on, in the bedroom, or the family room!

24 wow, nice. I really like that... my laptop's 17 in. and I do everything on it. I could use more space!

Im thinking of skipping the Mac Pro until it gets a January update and picking up one of these! Im sure it screams in FCP as well! And 24 inches @ 1900x1200 is amazing! BUILT IN! OH NOOOOO, IMMMM NAAVVVIIIIGATTTING TO THE APPPLLLELEEEEE STOOOORRRREEE!!!

That is my problem. The average family has become seperated because of this. All you need it a TV... they come in BIGGER sizes. A laptop is a big excuse to work on your own time, which is sick.

Looks like they upgraded the two MacMini also, from 1.5GHz solo and 1.66GHz duo; to 1.66GHz duo for the cheaper one and 1.83GHz duo for the more expensive one!!

24? 24???
Cmon- that has got to be the most pathetic thing ive ever seen. Isnt 19" enough???

Wtf are you nuts? I work on a 23 CinemaHD and a 20" Cinema Display and I am STILL looking at a 30" Dell 3007FPW to purchase.

Once you get the screen real estate, you'll never want to go back.

Those have been upgraded for a while. Too bad there's no real expansion for them. =(

I wouldn't buy an iMac. I'm all about Desktops... so when more bleeding edge Lemmings test out the products and everyone's on board to support, I'll have one for personal use as well.

Well, I might eat my words on a MacBook soon. =P

19" for a notebook/laptop. For at-home monitor, go as big as you want.

Cool! Wasn't aware of that. The 1.83 duo looks pretty sweet. Non-upgradable maybe, but it takes hardly any desk space. Good to have various options.

Ya, its almost impossible for me to edit on the go on my MBP, i need my HDTV (26inch) to edit and as a faux second display. Ive tried editing on the 50inch as well, but its just a teensy too big, LOL.

When workin with OS X, its not like work, its like just using the computer for leisure. OS X is a blessing! Im gunna wait till the 12th to see what they release for this thing, im still awaiting FCP Extreme (6.0) as well, but i think of all the stuff, you can not debut anything and just simply release the iPhone and i will be a very very happy camper! Ive been holding off on the Palm 650/700 for so long for the iPhone. 2 iPods (nano and video) just arent enough, i need it all in a phone, could you imagine?!

Ive got a Mac Mini as well, its just a G4 1.25ghz, but its invisable, which is awesome, and it hasnt been turned off in probably 8 months, just restarted for some updates. Just the at home web browser and online poker machine. Very awesome machine, and it was only 300 bucks 6 months ago.

October's going to be the big release month. Adobe/macromedia cross-grades are here.

I'm sure to have one of these suckers, then.
