=Prodigy= said:Before my HVX I was using the DVC10, which if you remember was the camera released about the same time as the XL-1. Since then Panny discontinued the camera and used the body mold to create the less caliber DVC7 and slightly better DVC60. Anyway I had a bunch of batteries from that camera and they are the same used on the DVX and HVX. I have been using them along with some new batteries I bought. Nothing has become a problem.
Andrew, what you are saying is that some batteries are not backwards compatible? Hmm. Interesting. I haven't discovered that yet because I have not used my DVC10 with the new big batteries... it has been a nice paper weight since the HVX.Spec-Comm said:Thanks Prodigy. One of the misconceptions though is that all models of batteries are interchangeable with these models. The 5400mAh Panasonic battery will NOT fit into the DVC10 or the DVC7, ONLY the DVC60. Because of the size of the cells, they needed to add a lip to the battery and the DVC60 was the only camera made (other than the DVX and the HVX) that could facilitate that physical size of the battery. I know of at least one of the EZ series cameras being able to fit that battery too. The AG-EZ50.
