Bein' single is farkin tough... ( a rant )

And a drunk one.. Im procrasinating on bed as tomorrow is a 13 hour day of test shots :(

I'm single again after 7 years of marriage and while I've made it a point not to settle into anything serious and have my fun, I think it's also important to maintain respect for your play partners and not treat them like disposable razors to be used and discarded. There's such a thing as karma and how you treat others can come back to you. As long as both of you know it's for fun and there are no expectations, everything's cool, but if you're feeding a line to women who are sincere just to bust a nut, that crosses a line.

Ok i have read enough its bed time... man that must be hard.

I was at the gym once and I saw this really attractive woman read ... BARRY GREEN's DVX book on the treadmill! I thought wow, totally good looking, AND tech geek too! Suddenly thoughts of buying universal remotes together and pining for widescreen TV's together began to play in my mind, and I thought I must get to know this woman!

Fortunately the treadmill next to hers was free, so I saddled up next to her ... but what to say ... had to be just right cuz this was one classy broad we are talking about here. So I too a quick mental inventory of my best pickup lines ...

"Are those space pants you're wearin'? Cuz yo' butt is outta dis world?"
"If you were on the menu at Mc Donalds, you'd be McCute."
"Dang girl, you so hot, you make fire sweat."
"Hey baby you must be a cambells soup girl, cause you look umm umm good."
"You so hot, I'd sleep with your brother."
"If you were a laser gun, you'd be set on stunning."
"You musta fell out the pretty tree and hit every branch on the way down."
"Excuse me, I think you have something in your eye. Nope, it's just a sparkle."

No ... none of those tried and true lines would work this time, sure things though they were, this lady needed something special .... she was looking at the chart in Barry's book on pulldown sequencesl so I opened with ....

"I've always found advanced pulldown removal to be the most fascinating thing ... that is until I saw you."

BUT -- as soon as I turned to her she started cranking up her ipod ... I mean she cranked it so loud people that were walking by put their fingers in their ears! And she totally ignored me.

I was really embarrassed so i pretended like I was rehearsing dialogue: ""I've always found advanced pulldown removal to be the most fascinating thing ... that is until I saw you ... you variable frame rate HD cam. That's right I love variable frame rates ... " etc.

I was crushed. I've since started wearing all black. I dyed my hair Elvis black and grew a single blade of it down to my chin in the front. I only listen to EMO now and rarely leave the apartment. I spend all my time on internet chat boards discussing things like who would win in a fight between Luke Skywalker, Frodo Baggins, Harry Potter ... both at the beginning and end of their quests ... of course most people think Frodo is right out ... but I say not so fast because he has the most heart and that's what all those stories are about, and they say, yeah but harry potter can like turn him into a snake, .... oh ... er ... where was I .... Oh yes, despite the fact that I gained 50 pounds, have lost most of my hair, and stopped shaving and bathing, I did just got a part time job in a comic book store! (I soon lost my other job as an investment banker after the unfortunate "treadmill incident). The comic book store is great. I'm making some friends to. Sure most of them are twelve -- but they REALLY get me. It doesn't pay much, but since I moved back in with my mom, my expenses are really low.

Just shows to go you how you can't let something like that get you down. I mean look at me, I'md doing great ... no really

nuttin'. If said I was depressed and drank whiskey it would be same dif' ... isn't EMO the music of choice for the inytrospectively maudlin? I wouldn't really know.

word... get's ya in the mood... I hear ya... I enjoy country music for pure happiness myself... it's so bouncy :)
