Can anyone get 1080p Quicktime videos to run smoothly?

its funny, its just one of those little things that i cant seem to work out?
I am running all the latest drivers. Could it be a memory thing? why would it be only quicktime 1080p that does it? not 720p and not wmp 1080p?
Very very weird :(

Are you all running QT with its stock settings? There are several safe mades in there but none of the options seem to make any difference in preformance?

I might get a new mother board and 2gig of basic ram.

Another thing is i cant tell the difference in both system and gaming preformance running between 512mb up to 2gb :S also what speed the ram actually is running at.

I have just removed one 512 stick from the puta and i cant really tell that its gone? This has been the case on all computers i have had in the past aswell. Do you only notice anything over 512mb with high end graphics or video editing if your working with over 3 layers?

Any information you may have will help :)

Cheers

Im running a PC with a 2.8 Ghz, 2 gigs of memory and a geforce 256mb... I dont have this issue your talking about.

However I dont use quicktime to view the 1080 video but use VLC media player, runs most clicps no matter what format without hickups.

Oh and Mac should stick to iPods!

you need more ram. My PC is 3.2ghtz and didint play back 1080P smoothly. i got another gig of ram ,now its like perfect full framerate.

Somtimes its the response time or refresh rate of the monitor that cant keep up with the content you want to view..
