Indiana Jones IV Red Tails

my point was that the last crusade was about Indy and his dad so if they bring in a child it should keep that going. about indy and his son but i do agree it should be about indy mostly

My version of Indy always included the Japanese and the Pacific Theatre. I thought it'd be cool to have some narrow escape from Hiroshima or at least hitch a ride on the Enola Gay or be involved somehow in part of WW2 action.

Nazi's are getting tired in Indy films

That could be a cool storyline to tie Short Round into.

There is no need for this film. Harrison Ford's signing on for this has seriously diminished his cool factor with me.

And I love me some Ms. Portman. I happen to think she's a very talented actress, but she is not an action heroine by any stretch of the imagination.

But then again, who knew Kate Beckinsale would kick butt as well as she did?

No, I must stay resolute. No new Indy film... Boooooooooo...

That would be poo pooing hysterical.

I can't believe you guys are bashing Portman. She was amazing in Closer and she is a major piece of @$$.

I think that Keira Knightley doing her tomboyish part (ala Pirates) in a film in which Indy was always dissappointed to have had a girl rather than a boy would've worked nicely perhaps...

Not sure Natalie would fit that role quite so well and can't see a feasable way of writing her into the plot to be honest

A little article featuring some info from Lucas where he talks about Indy IV's McGuffin....and makes an unfortunate comparison to Phantom Menace....

I'm thinking that the reference to PHANTOM MENACE is simply that Lucas feels he's in a can't-win position. People will be expecting so much that nothing could possibly meet those expectations.

Personally, I feel that if Spielberg is heavily involved and is directing, it will turn out fine. Even if it's only as good as TEMPLE OF DOOM, I'll be quite happy.

I will expect nothing more than utter crap if it is anything like the LAST CRUSADE and bits of DOOM

I have preached this one before:

Raiders was nominated for BEST PICTURE and they took the franchise odown the road of cutesy franchise lunchbox bullshit. It started with Short Round beating up the thuggies and ended with MArcus stumbling around Cairo like a complete moron.

And DONT CALL ME JUNIOR ! and COnnery's absurd role as an effin Idiot just sucked.

I wish Lucas would just stay away from the franchise

its unforgivable what they did to Sallah. turned the "best digger in cairo" into a bumbling incompetent douchebag. for me, there is only "Raiders".

George Lucas said Friday that filming of the long-awaited Indiana Jones 4 will begin next year with Harrison Ford set to star again. Lucas said he and Steven Spielberg recently finalized the script for the film.

"It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet," the 62-year-old filmmaker said during a break from preparing for his duties as grand marshal of Monday's Rose Parade.

Exact film locations have not been decided yet, but Lucas said part of the movie will be shot in Los Angeles.

The fourth chapter of the "Indiana Jones" saga, which will hit theaters in May 2008, has been in development for over a decade with several screenwriters taking a crack at the script, but it only recently gained momentum.

Lucas kept mum about the plot, but said that the latest action flick will be a "character piece" that will include "very interesting mysteries."

"I think it's going to be really cool," Lucas said.

At the inaugural Rome Film Festival in October, the 64-year-old Ford said he was excited to team up with Lucas and Spielberg again for the fourth "Indiana Jones" installment. Ford said he was "fit to continue" to play the title role despite his age.

Can George finally realize that when you have a good movie there's no point in making a sequal or a prequal?
