Hi Cynic821.

As far as JVC are concerned it is a HD monitor. This is from their press release.

"JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY today announced the addition of its new DT-V100CGU high definition (HD) digital TV (DTV) monitor to its impressive line-up of HD display products. This versatile 10-inch multi-format monitor is ideal for control rooms, editing stations or remote vans; the DT-V100CGU offers users a cost-effective single-monitor solution.

The asterisk is in relation to the input boards that are required for either component or sdi interface (which is standard on most of these price ranged monitors).

Still, my question stands in regard to the 230 lines and HD?

You'd need to purchase the component input card (if you want to use it for HD).
No 720 24p

Other than that there's no reason why this monitor would not work.
I wonder how much the component input card costs?
