Component Cable

Sure enough, my D4 cable broke at the component end. The blue wire only works intermittently. I'm having Panasonic replace it, but I think I'm going to buy a spare (heavier duty, perhaps).

The camera is built so solidly, but that cable seems made to break.

Does anyone know where to get an industrial streangth D4 cable?

i cant remember the link, but i dont thin it was industrial strength anyways.

I hate the feeling of the D4 connection on the camera side of the HVX. It feels so weak that i go through the whole process of setting up the tripod when i want to watch footage on my big sreen to put the camera on to make sure the camera isnt moved putting wierd pressure on the cable. If i dont setup the tripod i get really OCD with the camera. :P

I was on a shoot and the cable was screwing up. Read that other people are going through them. I just bought 3 of the D4 to female RCA cables at Digital Connection. I intend to cut it to my custom length and solder on BNC connectors. This hopefully will be the "final solution"

Canon's HD "Toy size" camera (model number escapes me now Hx1 maybe) also uses same connectors. I bought one from B&H as a spare for my HVX. worked fine, plus, it wasn't wretchedly short like the one that comes with HVX.
