purchasing audio equipment

Hello all,

I'm a huge noob so please bear with me.

After reading tons of these posts, I am following many recommendations for the following equipment:

-MK012A "Bello Nero" Condenser Microphone with Hypercardioid Capsule
-Rycote BBG Windshield for 20mm
-Rycote Windjammer for BBG
-haven't decided on which boompole yet.

But I do have a few questions:

1) several people recommended the K-Tek SSM, all I could find online was:

K-Tek Small Shock Mount, Sanken CS-1

I assume this will work with the Oktava, but just wanted to doublecheck.

2) Along the same lines, has anyone used this shock mount:

SSM-1 SABRA-SOM SHOCK MOUNT

and does it compare favorably to K-Tek's or no?

3) Cables
I've never used this equipment before, but juding by the descriptions from the various stores, none of this stuff comes with cables, and honestly, I'm not sure what I would need to get it all connected to a DVX100. Ends, adapters, etc to go from camera, thru boompole to mic?

4) Is there anything else I'm missing to use this all together? Adapters, mounts? something else entirely?

Thanks for your time

K-Tek KSSM is one mount - $99.
Sabra mount - $49.

Both will work. Buy cables from MattSL if he still has a supply. He'll get you
set up, if not, buy cables at b&h photo video - Canare Star-Quad.

apollyon, I'm in the EXACT same place as you in researching my purchases.

You basically started the same thread I would have started.

Just so you guys know, you are looking for XLR, male to female cables, length depending on whether your boom pole in internally or externally cabled.

Regards,
Tim

Thanks for the info Tim! I ordered the Oktava mic already, and was waiting to see what it needed once it came.

I sent MattinSTL a pm as several people have pointed out he sells cables, but he must be busy, or have better things to do than answer annoying questions from 'junior members' like myself ;-)

Time to stop lurking and get that post count up :)

Thanks again!
