DUAL wins Best Independent Action Film

Our film DUAL was nominated in three categories at the recent Action On Film International Film Fest and won Best Independent Action Film. Though it is not a typical action film (has one 7 second fist fight and a couple western style shoot outs) it still found it's way into this category.

We shot it on the F900 over 10 days. I did it a few months after shooting another feature on the DVX 100 and had some interesting experiences with both cameras. The current version at the festivals is only a Work In Progress version as our sound mix is just finishing next week. If you want to see the trailer, check it out here:

Congrats Squid... Your film beat my film (Vigilantes) in that category :( Great work, man, and much continued success. your film looks great. My 14 year old daughter (she was nominated for best female action performer) got to check out your flick and she loved it.

Cheers,

Looks really good. Great work.

Are you aware that your aspect ratio changes mid-way through the trailer?

Doesn't matter because it looks so good.

Thanks Smith.... I wish I had seen yours but missed that day. That was a sweet comment from your daughter as well. And VERY cool she was nominated. Nice to get an early start! Keep up the good work on all fronts.

The film was only a "work in progress" version as it was mixing the audio mix (has a new narration, improved SFX, etc.) but I hope to debut that one at The True West Film Festival in a couple weeks if it gets finished quick enough.

As for the trailer, you are right Playa. I have another version I need to transfer to quicktime that fixes that and includes a few different scenes. I'll try to have that up in a week. I will also post the trailer to my new finished film with John Saxon in a couple days.

We just all got to keep on shooting!
