Hey Owen,

Since you have come up with such great ideas in the past, I thought I'd give you another chance :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I'm helping my sister put together her wedding video business and we came up with the name "Dream Reels"...I was hoping you, and/or others, might come up with some catchy logo ideas for us....pretty please, with sugar on top!! :love4::dankk2:
 
Hey John...what don't you like about it? Do you not like the name period or does it not feel like it fits the "business"? Just curious, because it is important what people's reactions to the name are.

The name came about when thinking of "event videography" (weddings, birthdays, etc, etc). We were focusing on the idea of "memories" and trying to marry that with terms/words that conjured up the idea of video/movies/film. We put a lot of words together and at some point came to the word Dream as another form of memories, perhaps future memories and tried it with several words (e.g. pictures, films, productions, etc) and when we hit "reel" then we lateched onto "Dream Reels" and it just sounded cool.

Thanks B-Dawg...I'll send him a note also. Even though I put "Owen" in the subject I was hoping others would jump in also, as they have done in the past. I just referenced Owen since he is kind of the patron saint of logo ideas around here. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
 
Are you asking for Owen Wilson? He's on a gig at the moment... or Uncle Owen? He met an untimely demise at the hands of Stormtroopers... but I could try to help!
 
Well, if you're the only Owen available then I guess I'll have to settle for you...sure see what you can do :)

By the way, you never actually see Uncle Owen get killed....I think he will come back in Star Wars 7 as the new Sith Lord :grin:
 
Careful -- I once wrote a long post to a Star Wars forum where I was kidding around about how there is no proof of Uncle Owen's death, and we will ultimately find that he is the key to EVERYTHING. Some people took me VERY seriously and it got ugly real fast.
 
All I can say is, "Great minds think alike!". Now, I don't know what that has to do with us, or this Uncle Owen conspiracy, but it sounded like the thing to say.

I'm no artist, so I'll leave this to the pro's (Owen) but here's an idea... clouds... dreams make me think of clouds... think about implementing them.
 
And bad dreams include boogy men...but don't incorporate them :) Seriously though, good idea B-Dawg.

That's a pretty clever idea there Owen, but I don't think the "circle/reel" comes across as being a reel (except via context). I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't look like a "reel" to me, not even a stylized one...if that makes any sense (and if not, then just ignore me :) )

Also, if it makes any difference...the word that kept coming up in the discussion about the name was "high-brow" (ok, maybe it's two words, but I put the hyphen in there). She likes fancy, high-falutin' (however you spell that), stylish, european, etc, etc.
 
Yeah I started with clouds... but with the word Dream in there it just all started looking like a DreamWorks rip-off.

Fancy high-brow city-folk stuff eh? Hmm...
 
Yea, exactly....high-brow city-folk stuff. She don't like that hometown, country living stuff (even though she lives smack in the middle of dairy farms and fruit orchards :)
 
I dont know, the name seems a little... how do you say, like the first idea that pops into your head or do i mean cliche' ? It seems like its too common of a name like when someone wants to give themselves a bad ass nick name and they come up with a name like "slice" or "slick".
Just my 2 cents.

Reading back to why you chose that name I feel like dreams are not memories at all. They can be of a memory but its not that often that they are. I think you should explore the idea a little deeper. I understand that a wedding is built on dreams of the future but i feel that you dont have to scream it out so blatently.
 
Sorry I haven't even posted the requisite ten rough drafts yet! Been swamped lately juggling projects.

Here's another -- I shall keep trying. This one has me stupmed for some reason. Usually I play around with the words until I find a good way to make them work together visually. There's just something about these letters that doesn't want to cooperate today.

Dream reels is for pussies! Call it Ball and chain productions. Dream reels sounds too gay...Not that there's anthing wrong with that:)
 
That one's kind of cool Owen...I understand you're being busy, just be aware that the longer it takes, the bigger my cut on the next project you do :grin:

Just to throw a wrench in the works...does it get any easier to do something with this name: "Shooting Starr (productions/pictures/etc)"? And that's no typo with the two "R"'s in "Starr"...my sister's middle name is Starr and I actually prefer this name, but she seemed to be leaning toward the Dream Reels.

Anyway, if something cool comes up with the second name maybe she'd go for it instead.

Kindred Spirits

Magical Glass Productions, Magic through Glass or whatever combination of that one

or something simple like:
Serenity Digital or Seranade

and as a bonus: A Threesome's the Key Productions
