Top Movie Characters Of All Time...

Per John Hudson's suggestion...

Let us see if we can't compile a collective DVXUSER list of the greatest characters in movie history. If everyone could list ten characters (and only ten...with no ties) along side the specific movie in question...then, from there, we can take a tally of the nominated names & organize them into the master list.

A couple of guidelines:

Do not include more than one film beside the character's name (including sequels.) For instance, don't list Michael Corleone with The Godfather I AND II beside his name...or don't list Vader with Star Wars AND Empire. If one wishes to convey both films (or just can't decide between them) then 2 separate picks must be burnt.

-also-

To be fair...
If more than 10 are listed in any one list, then only the first 10 will be tallied.

That outta the way,
On With The Show!

Ok, I'll start...

Rick Blaine (Casablanca)
Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark)
George Bailey (It's a Wonderful Life)
Darth Vader (Star Wars)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars)
William Wallace (Braveheart)
Michael Corleone (The Godfather Part II)
Vito Corleone (The Godfather)
Forrest Gump (Forrest Gump)
James Bond (Dr. No)

Kool. Here's the list I could arrange. Had to bump a bunch of characters I love off but...

John Rambo (First Blood)
Vito Corleone (The Godfather)
Harry Callahan (Dirty Harry)
Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark)
Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction)
Marshal Samuel Gerard (The Fugitive)
Ellen Ripley (Aliens)
O'Niel (Outland)
Darth Vader (Star Wars)
Jeff Spicoli (Fast Times At Ridgemont High)

My list is going to be made in the sense of what has the role meant to me and not neccasarily the best film or actor of the year (so to speak).

My list is guilty pleasure list.

1. Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones; Raiders of the Lost Ark

2. Roy Schneider - Chief Brody; Jaws

3. Mel Gibson - 'Mad' Max Rockatansky; The Road Warrior

4. Kurt Russel - Snake Plissken; Escape From New York

7. Bruce Willis - John McLane; Die Hard

8. Michael Madsen - Mr. Blonde; Reservoir Dogs

9. Al Pacino - Antonio Montana; Scarface

10. Harrison Ford - Han Solo; The Empire Strikes Back

Nigel Tufnel (This is Spinal Tap)
Ferris Bueller (Ferris Bueller's Day Off)
Tyler Durden (Fight Club)
Frank T.J. Mackey (Magnolia)
Amelie Poulain (Amelie) *
Ellen Ripley (Aliens) *

* Gotta have some girls on the list.
