Top five, right off the top of your head. Don't erase, don't think, just type. Here I go.

Deniro Mean Streets
Newman--Cool Hand
Eric Bana-- Chopper
Matt Dillon The Outsiders
William Holden The Bridge of the river K-Y.

I cheated a little, I dismissed Gary Oldman in Sid and Nancy but I think you understand. There's nothing cool about a talentless junkie wastoid. Great part, great acting, good movie, but not cool.

the coolest... without thinking...

Steve McQueen - Bullitt
Chow Yun-Fat - The Killer
William Holden - The Wild Bunch
Terrence "Tell them I'm ****ing coming!!!!" Stamp - The Limey
Roddy Piper & Keith David - They Live

"I came here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of bubblegum."

I thought that was sooooo cool when I saw it. I think I was 10.

Harrison Ford - Indy
Al Pacino - Scarface
Harrison Ford - Han Solo
Tom Berenger - Platoon
Roy Scheider- Jaws

Terance Hill = Nobody (movie is dated, but easily the coolest ever... excellent definition of cool if you can get through the dated style... great story too.)

Clint Eastwood = ALL the old spaghetti westerns... Clint invented long cool shots and long looks where more is said in silence with the eyes.

Harrison Ford = first actor that made me aware of cool... Han Solo.

Harrison Ford = Raiders series... cool under stress... one of my favorite characters of all time.

After that I'm locked up... I'd have to copy somebody else's answers... that's all that ever made a strong impression on me.

There's some modern actors that will fit this list when it's all said and done... that Vigor guy is pretty cool.

Keanu Reeves - Matrix
Clint Eastwood - unforgiven
Chris Reeves - Superman
Russel Crowe - Cinderellaman
Gabriel Garcia Bernal - Motorcycle Diaries

(Damn, that was harder than I thought, There is so much frustration now inside!)

Pee Wee Herman

So you all can have your Fords, Pacinos, and Eastwoods. BUT Pee Wee would take them all to school when it comes to being cool. :) :)

"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious
anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you
will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." I been
sayin' that shi* for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your
ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was
just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfu**er 'fore you popped a
cap in his ass."
