DePalma's The Black Dahlia

Hopefully it will be cool. Not too sure about the cinematography though. It looks like digital or something.......Digital with a bad plugin. Depalma can do some amazing things though.

According to the IMDB, it was shot on 35mm.

hmm....i dont know....the cc or whatever they did to it looks too fake to me. It doesnt look rich or anything. I think cinderella man is a good example of something that looks alot better. For being around the same period...

thx for the link i'm almost sure this movie is gonna rock

hopefully it'll erase "femme fatale" out of my memories

Looks great! A couple of odd casting choices, perhaps, but we'll see how they do. This kind of movie is perfect for DePalma.

i just watched Cinderella Man for the first time today. I'm surprised at how much crap it gets. it was a very good movie. it had heart and story and great acting and directing.

i've been excited for Black Dahlia now for a while and the trailer makes me want to see it even more, even though i don't think Scarlett Johannson is a good actress...

I love LA Confidential and this one looks right up my alley.

Old School Studio Hollywood, Detectives, Depraved Sex, Maybe some Drugs, and Celebrities.

Josh Hartnett as one of James Ellroy's most driven and obsessed characters. A cop consumed almost to the point of self-immolation. That sound like Hartnett to you? Right.

I love Hollywood.

DePalma whose recent "masterpieces" include Snake Eyes and Mission Impossible.
Josh Hartnett who suffers from permanent bedhead.
Scarlett Johannsen whose acting I can't differentiate from a cardboard cutout of her own person.
And James Ellroy who must get paid by the word.

As you can see, this movie is right up my alley!

Where's Phillip Marlowe or the Continental Op? They got some asses to kick.
