Movies aren't a big deal to Woody Allen

Here's a quote from his interview in the Washington Post:

"I pull it out of the typewriter, bring it in, three days later I have a budget. Then we do pre-production, which is about 10 weeks. I mean, I'm not doing a $100 million budget. I'm working with $15 million or so. I shoot for about 10 weeks maximum."

Three days later he as a budget of $15 million. Oh to be Woody Allen... :)

Best part about Woody is he's a machine. Doesn't dabble in his ego for ten years between films. He just keeps making em. Some better than others, but gotta respect that. Spielburg's the same way.

Don't mean to be negative but I can't stand Woody. I really believe you have to have a New York connection to get him...:furious3:

Yeah the man puts out a lot of work. Scarlett Johansson seems to be his new fave actor. Scoop is her second film in a row with him. Don't know yet though if she's up to Diane Keaton caliber though. That pairing was comedy gold.

Scoops not that bad, i went to a preview of it and it was getting nonstop laughs whenever allen was onscreen. Johansson finally doesn't sound bored either. I give it thumbs up.

Allen is a good example of what I wish we saw more in Hollywood. Everything doesn't have to be three hours long and cost a gajillion dollars. Instead he consistantly makes 10 - 15 million dollar films that are entertaining (I like the guy anyway). I wish more filmmakers with 10 - 15 million dollar film ideas would get the greenlight.

I like that we all view $15 million as low budget. :)

I'm just astounded that Woody can round it up in a matter of days. I want to get to that point. I'd be perfectly happy making $15 million dollar films for the rest of my filmmaking career. Especially if they had Scarlett J. in them. :)

I'd be happy making a fifteen dollar film with Scarlet Johansen.:love4:
