Updated on my CAVISION problem and one of those days version 2

OK so I actually went into the supplier the other day and demanded action. They made me wait an hour to sort their bullplop but its sorted. So within about 3 weeks I shall have what I need. Right on time I might add. So I feel much less stressed.

On top of that today is like a dream day. For my upcoming project I have been sourcing lighting etc.

Anyway I decided that in addition to what I already own that I wanted to rent 3 additional fresnels, plus purchase a couple of 1000 watt halogens for some exterior shots. SO i laid down the $$ for the halogens yesterday. But today I recieved an exciting phone call... my wifes uncle is a photographer, his company does magazine shoots for many different Japanese fashion magazines. Some of which my daughter has been in. Anyway about a year ago one of his staff was in the US and picked up some lights, then the staff member quit and left his lights behind. They tried to get in touch with him over the course of the year to say hey pick em up, never did. SO now I am inheriting them and guess what they turned out to be.

Exactly what I was in need of. Sometimes the sun doth shine.

Picked up these bad boys today... had a play. Nice.

Anyway I am now packing the following in my lightkit:

3 x 500 watt arri fresnels

3 x 1000 watt LPLs (japan made) light kit - uses halogen globe. I guess these are similar to redheads as the closest comparison... well they are the same, same lamp etc but cost a bit more. About $500 USD per light.

Kino flo Diva 400

3 x Clamp lights - these all have wire covers which I usually add diffuser and cto to depending on circumstance.... sometimes these are invaluable in Japan when room space is miniscule.

And just picked up two locally made HMIs for exteriors.

So if my lighting sucks in future its totally my fault :P

Forgot to mention I also picked a petrol generator as well for about 20% of cost price. Needless to say I am doing a whole weeks worth of test location shooting next week, to get it perfect. Then when the NON grip volunteers come along I can say do this this and this done, with photos.
