Paul W.S. Anderson : What will he mess up next?

Seriously, not like my opinion matter? But, Pauls' on my shiet list.

I haven't seen a movie of his yet that I've liked-- but that's all well and good. It's when he keeps screwing up the video game movies. Castlevania is going to blow so hard in his hands.

Didn't think about this until I scrolled channels and saw Resident Evill on.

Soldier is probably the best he's done to date.

I can't see how he keeps getting these large budgets and opportunities, but turns out crap.

I watched part of AvP finally when it came on the other day... Just... Wow.
 
I thought AvP was entertaining and so was Resident Evil...for the most part. The guy makes dumb movie, but watchable movie.
 
RE was total crap dude. So was AvP. I screamed for about a week when i heard he was manning that project, and screamed for about two more weeks when I saw it was PG-13.

He's doing Death Race 3000, a remake of Death Race 2000. I've never seen the original, but I'm sure a Paul Anderson remake of a B movie is going to be... Boll-ish

God i hate him and his wife so i know he'll make Simon Belmont be his wife in Castlevania... trust me he'll find a way.

One movie thats it it and he destoryed movie and game franchises like uwe bolls.

both of them.... man if i could go "hostel" on them.

Dude he is so bordering on Boll it's not even funny.

It's just wrong what he does to the potential of movies. Resident Evil was always slated to be a great horror movie.

This guy goes and sticks karate kicks in every freaking corner of the film.
GAHD.
 
Watching Resident Evil just suck so hard hurt me in dark places. Talk about being hyped for the first Zombie film in years and being a fan and player of the PS2 games.

Maybe this guy has money or knows someone with money or has information on the Queen or something he is using as blackmail; but how he continues to get work is a mystery

I can make crap like him.
 
Really, though.

It hurt so bad man... I was really sad afterward, on both occasions. There's no redeeming the franchise within the next ten years, well have to wait for some competent filmmaker or indie filmmaker to create something as close as possible to it and use it's Japanese name: BIOHAZARD to get what we want.

Honestly. Being rich must be nice. Boll and this guy need to be banned so hard. Their agents, however, need to represent me.
 
Does anyone have numbers for how these movies do in DVD sales? Maybe they keep giving him jobs because his movies are actually making money.

i don't know about dvd sales but here is a breakdown: (budget then world box office gross)

RE1: 33 million, 102 million
(he didn't direct RE2)
AVP: 60 million, 171 million
Soldier: 60 million, domestic 14 million, no international numbers
Mortal Kombat: Budget not listed, but did 122 million worldwide

with those numbers, they, unfortunetly, will keep letting him make movies.
 
I thought you were talking about PT Anderson! I was like wtf is this guy talking about?

But then I read closer and it was Paul WS Anderson... which I've never even heard of. Soldier I have seen though, which I liked.

Did any of you happen to get your hands on a copy of George Romero's script of RE? I have one at home that is supposedly his work, and while it's not totally awesome, I kept watching RE movies thinking "how'd they pass for this Anderson guy?"

RE was the first R rated movie I snuk into, and I'm so glad I didn't pay for it.

Did you guys see they're making a thrid one too? How does that freaking work?!?!?!?!?!?!

And the son of a ***** is married to Milla Jovovovovvich!

Trying to decipher this man's power is like trying to prove a God actually exists: baffling and impossible.

I could stand Mortal Combat--as i wasnt expecting anything from a movie based on a video game. AvP was a disappointment but they needed to make this film at least 10 years ago(same with Freddy Vs Jason). The Aliens looked and acted fine but the Predators looked cheap and were pretty incompetant. Lance Henricksen--so wasted. Setting it in Antarctica--ugh. Then again I absolutely despise the original Dark Horse comics which this movie is mainly based on. Making the aliens captured prey of the predators was a bad/unfair move--it should have been their first encounter to make it interesting. Having the predator team up with a human was just laughably stupid. The comic is much worse the way they carry that.

I would like to see a Thing(82) vs the Blob(88) matchup. I am not sure who would win in that one. They both seem to attack on a cellular level.

Wearing the Alien's head as an arm guard and using the tail as a spear.

That should've been the que to all studio execs and agents to black list this guy.

I can't believe he wrote that INTO a script.

I can imagine him smiling when he came up with it.. "ooooh this is so COOOL!"
