Can you power a Firestore FS-100 externally?

I keep hearing about the Firestore battery issues. Does the Firestore have the option of using an external battery source, or are the rechargable batteries the only option? I assume you must have a way to plug it into the wall, yes? I keep thinking if I can get the camera, monitor, and firestore to run on one battery, then problem solved. Assuming someone can fix the wiring to a battery to do this.

The answer is yes. We power our Firestore, HVX and Marshall with an AntonBauer with a multitap. It works perfectly, and has been for over a month - shooting four days/week. One of the advantages is that if you want to AC, you just plug in your AntonBauer and all three have AC - one plug. You will need the AntonBauer-HVX adapter.

Suede is right, FS-100 will work with DC sources from about 12-17V DC. If you want to charge the on-board removable battery, you will have to be at about 15V. I have also run FS-100 (for about 10 hours in playback mode) on an Anton/Bauer Dionic 90 with a Power Tap cable. Anton actually sells a cable for FS-4/-100 use. Just as an FYI...Focus does make a 180 minute battery for the FS-100.

Hope that helps,

No, I'm totally down with using an AB or V-mount. Could any of you please tell me where I can buy the AntonBauer-HVX adapter and multitap? Just go to Anton directly to get this setup? I plan to hook it all on a DVRigPro. I figure mounting the AB on the back should be perfect. Still working on attaching the Marshall and Firestore.

Also dont forget The Power Bag jr. it will run a fiestore for 71/2 hours and recharge in 3 hrs. It also has a rain proof cover built in and can be left on charge all the time so it will be ready when you are. Adapters are also available at radio shck so you can power other stuff with it!! Check it out at http://powerbagjunior.com/powerbagjunior/index.htm regards Stuart

Thanks or all the help. I think I got it all figured out. I'm going to get the batteries and charger from www.batteries4broadcast.com

They got a good deal on a V-mount plate and 4-pin xlr connector to go to the marshall.
I'll get the PowerTap-Multi like you all suggested, the PowerTap-FS4 for the firestore, and the CA-P to power the HVX.

I just learned the M2 runs on a 9 volt battery but can accept an external 12v connection. Still working on what to use for the M2.

Re: Battery for M2...
We use the BG 6-12-44 from Batterygeeks. It gives us full power all day, has a level readout, and velcros perfectly to the side of the M2. Good Luck.

Thanks. Got a link? Right now I'm just trying to charge the battery on the thing and having no luck. But I have contacted someone from Focus and it looks like I'm going to get some direct help to resolve the issue. Great to hear as I have been told by others it's hard getting through to support.
