please advise me on a tripod to buy...

hello people.

im in need of a tripod and i'm totally flummoxed by the range of brands and types on offer on the internet. im basically looking for a tripod which has a smooth, slow pan/tilt movement. im used to using a manfrotto 503 head but ive decided its just far too expensive for me.

any idea on a decent model, which will carry the weight of a DVX100, for about $100-160? an all-in-one legs and head kit would be fine or a good head/cheap legs combo...

I have a Bogen Monfrotto 501 setup but my backup tripod is one of these, it's about $20 more than you want to spend but I have gotten some great results with it.

I have this and it has a fluid head and is pretty light, not too expensive.

My experience tells me cheap and light tripods just don't hack it. Even if it has a fluid head. You try Manfotto or Bogen 055 with a 129RC head.
