dual monitor setup
dual monitor setup
if you have two computer monitors and a video card that has two monitor outputs you can run a simple dual monitor setup through windows xp. all you have to do is plug both monitors in, right click on the desktop, go to "setup" click "advanced" and you'll see two monitors displayed. if you then click on "expand desktop to this monitor" the desktop will be expanded so it's on both monitors. then you can open whatever program you want, click on the "restore" button that makes your window "float" and then drag it from one monitor to the other.
in my setup I usually put all my tools on one monitor and the program window on the other. or in case of after effects, premiere and other editing programs I organize the panels inside the program so that I have all effects and adjustment panels on the left side and the timeline and monitor on the right.
