I'm poor so I'm doing all my work on a powerbook at the moment. I hope to have the cash to get a power mac when they come out.

looks cool, nice monitors!

I miss Austin. How is the filmmaking scene there? I moved right after the University of TX was done with me and handed me my diploma :crybaby:

Thx, I wish it were two of yours.

Austin appears to be thriving, there's usually lot's of projects looking for help on Craigslist. How's LA treating you? I used to live out there many moons ago...

I'm here as an advertising art director, but this past month I've gotten the ball rolling as far as filmmaking goes...

5 grand in gear spent, shooting my first short later this month/early next month. aaah!

Guitar, bed, and editing station. All you are missing is a little fridge with cold beer and a poster of Robert Rodriguez. I dig the hard wood floor.

Sorry for a perhaps too obvious of a question but... I understand having a tv monitor is important for color correction purposes but why have two computer screens? What am I missing?

productivity. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Productivity? Are the two comp monitors attached to the same computer? If so, how is it that both are displaying different images simultaneously? Maybe it's just two computers then...

No it's not that hard to hook up two monitors to one computer.

two monitors to one computer. dual-screen setup.

This will be the last interrogation on my part for this thread. OK so I know how to hook up two comp screens to one computer. But I see that the screens are showing different images at once so does this mean that certain NLE programs can produce dual monitor functions? I use Vegas and this is news to me if that's the case. Sorry to keep harping at this.

It's not dependent on the NLE. Think of it as one big monitor in terms of space. If you drag a window in your left monitor past the edge it will show up on the right monitor.

Wow... That's cool. I didn't know that. Awesome! Thanks for the info. I will definitely be trying this soon. I will probably be purchasing a small tv like the ones pictured before this reply and then I guess hook it up through my dvx. Looking forward to the possibilities. It can't be done through the back of the computer, can it?

You have to run it through the camera firewire and then into the tv to get it to display correctly. I've tried using my ATI all in wonder card to display a preview but all i can get it to do is clone or extend my desktop. Having two monitors is easy, just buy a second cheap ass graphics card from walmart or whereever, hook up your second monitor and choose extend desktop onto monitor under preferences. Once you have two monitors you'll never go back. Being able to extend your timeline and have more tools up at once, or have photoshop or AE in one monitor and your editor in the other you can just switch back and forth so effortlessly.
