Very interested in this product. Do you have any pictures of the final product? I would like to see how it mounts and what the focus knob looks like. Also how good is the Rack Focus compared to a Bebob Foxi? I've never used the Bebob Foxi just read the review on this site.

Thanks,

Jeff

Question for everyone....

Would you be more interested in a Bundle of a Focus Buddy Pro and a Zoom Buddy with a bundled (cheaper) price than buying separately? This would give you more options as you could use the Focus Buddy by itself or if you have more crew you could have 2 people with a Buddy to control?

I am working on the final design, which is a matter of shifting things slightly around.

The big hold up is that my work shop got flooded and I had to tear out the carpet and some dry wall that had mold. So the room is in need of clean up.

As far as the Foxi... I played with one at the HVX boot camp, my box is just as accurate in focus control. I can't give you a direct comparison as I don't own a Foxi or varizoom.

I have the only instant switch A/B rack focus.. but I bet the "other guys" will follow my lead ;')

I will have some videos soon of it in action.

It will attach to a tripod with a spring clip, it works very well.

Does this work with a FF unit?

The Buddy line uses the internal remote ports to control the cameras focus and other functions. If you have an M2 connected to your camera, the one advantage of Focus Buddy is that you can lock off the focus wheel on the camera, you can spin it all day and your focus to the ground glass wont change, so no accidently throwing off your focus.

That said it will not change the focus of the lens on the M2 or other 35mm lens attached.

If you have a follow focus on your HVX without a 35mm adaptor, Focus Buddy will work fine, your mechanical focus rig will not work until you unplug the remote focus box as it over rides the focus ring on the camera.

Hopefully that makes sense.
