alternative to beer/alcohol in scene

Or ginger ale, perhaps. But you won't get the same kind of head. Really only good for beer that had been in the glass for a while.

(And iced tea for whiskey, should the situation come up).

I remember once back in college, a friend and I were experimenting with mixing beverages from the cafeteria fountain. My friend filled a glass half way with iced tea, then filled it the rest of the way with 7-Up. It looked a lot like beer, including the foam. (Probably tasted like an extra-sweet sorta-lemony iced tea...)

Man, what´s wrong with non-alcooholic beer? It exists, you know? (it´s the secret doorway to apu´s secret garden in an old simpsons episode: "what if someone asks for a real non-alcooholic beer?" "Oh, don´t worry, they never do...")

If the actors are over age just drink the real stuff. I dont think they will get drunk after a beer or two. All these experiments people suggest are a waste of time!
Drink BEER!!!!l
BEER RULES!!!!
I drink it all the time!!!!

Oh That Reminds Me! Did Callaghan Have Soda In The Single Malt I Had To Drink....nooooo Then Brett Got Pissed Off Because I Had The Drink And He Didn't Soooo He Asked One Of The Guy's To Run Down The Store An Pick Up A Bottle! Oh It Was A Long Shoot.........

Try some sparkling cider (like Martinelli's). The color is right, there's some bubbles, and it'll give a little head.... no kidding. (Get our mind out of the gutter).

out of all this i still think Steve had the best idea. Let them drink and you might be surprised what you get after. More of a natural feel, conversation, mood?
go steve.

The real problem with beer is that nothing else approaches the head on a beer. Color, you can match but the head is created by the way the beer is brewed and sparkling cider just ain't gonna cut it. If you want to go non-alcohol, try an N/A beer. I've never found one that actually tastes like beer but they do give you the true beer head.

Scotch, bourbon, tequila can all be approximated with different brands of filtered apple juice.

Why the resistance to N/A beer? Can minors not drink that?
If you're asking me...because it tastes like crap. :zombie_smiley:

If I could find one that ACTUALLY tasted like beer, it would become my drink of choice.

I mean on a film set as an alternative, of course.

I never touch the stuff in real life.
As an alternative on the set, I personally believe it's the ONLY thing.
